The diving base offers a relaxing and tranquil atmosphere, ideal for guests looking for peace, rest and relaxation on their diving holiday. altEach guest will be given a large metal locker in which to store all equipment for the duration of their stay. Base Leaderalt

Base leader Jürgen Hronek and his team will look after our guests in Dahab, providing excellent personal and professional assistance. Before taking on the role of base manager in Dahab in August 2010, Jürgen worked for SUBEX in Sharm el Sheikh as Operation Manager, before several years as a diving instructor in Hvar (Croatia), Koh Samui (Thailand) and Lombok (Indonesia). All instructors and guides at the Dahab base speak German and English.

THE DIVING BOAT

Our 21 metre long, 5 metre wide diving boat “ROMY” is notable for her comfortable and spacious salon. Although the ROMY can take 25 people, we allow a maximum of 16 guests aboard so that each has enough space to process their diving experience. The spacious sun deck is also perfect for relaxing between dives, while the captain and the cook between them take care of the rest...
Since May 2011 brings the well-known ship Alchasar the guests to the reefs in Dahab. The small ship for fanciers was build from SUBEX for the diving business. With space for not more than eight people the atmosphere is quite and comfortable, individuel and private.
It depends on the guest, which boat is used for the half day and full day boat trips and takes the snorkelers and divers to the most beautiful spots.

ACCOMMODATION

Right next to the base is the small (approx. 70 rooms), simple and quiet SeaSun Hotel, which can easily be reached on foot over the beach. The somewhat larger Tropitel Hotel is situated on the other side. Alternatively, Dahab offers a wide range of hotels at varying ranges and prices, which can be booked through a tour operator or travel agent. We offer a free pick-up and return service to and from all hotels in Dahab to ensure our guests are able to book the hotel of their choice.

Check-in

Check-in is flexible in order to suit guest requirements. You can test out the hire equipment, and/or go through the formalities, while those who prefer to stay and rest at the hotel after a strenuous day of travelling can of course do so, too. In this case, we will provide all the necessary information before arrival and carry out the ‘check-in’ on the first day of diving.

Welcome Dive

On the first day of diving, each SUBEX guest will enjoy a ‘welcome dive’! A guide will lead this first dive in groups of no more than four to ensure that everyone is comfortable dipping their toe into the water, so to speak! Explore the underwater world while the guide makes note of the divers’ capabilities. Afterwards, you will make a joint decision as to whether your subsequent dives require the presence of a guide. Your guide will not charge for the Welcome Dive.

Check-out payment

After the last day of diving, it’s time to check-out of the SUBEX base. You’ll be able to wash your diving gear and buy souvenirs at the shop. Holiday experiences, photos and contact details are then usually swapped – preferably over a cold drink! Payment is effected after you have reviewed the fee. All services can be paid for at check-out either in cash (Euros, Swiss Francs, US dollars or Egyptian pounds) or by credit card (VISA, American Express or Mastercard).
